The Venice Area Public Library

The Venice Area Public Library is a National Literary Landmark. The children’s room, designated the Walter Farley Wing, was named in honor of the late local resident who authored the endearing Black Stallion series. The Library houses more than 350,000 books, periodicals, and audio/video cassettes.

The Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Library

The Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Library offers many of the same materials including a wide variety of pleasure and reference volumes. A butterfly garden overlooks a neighboring lake.

Both Venice area libraries schedule cultural programs for adults and children throughout the year. These include musical events, classic films, literary activities, and author presentations. Programs are free and open to the public.
