Relay For Life of Venice
610 Airport Ave E
Venice, Fl 34285
There is something amazing happening in our community! It's the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life of Venice and you can be a part of this wonderful event.
Relay for Life is a family-oriented event where participants can walk or run a track relay style for 12 hours. Participants camp around the track, and when they are not taking their turn, take part in other fun activities. Former and current cancer patients, their families, and the public are invited to take part in this exciting team relay event. The team consists of individuals representing corporations, clubs, organizations, and families. Prior to opening ceremonies, we have a dinner honoring survivors and caregivers. These same survivors will lead our first lap as we honor them.
I know far too many people whose lives have been touched by cancer. Chances are, you know them too. Relay is an amazing event that unites our community in a common effort toraise much needed funds for cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services. Every year, the funds we raise help bring the American Cancer Society one step closer to eliminating cancer from our lives for good, but we can’t stop now, because there is no finish line until we find a cure.
This event is open to the public. This year our survivor speaker will Marine Pety, a student at Venice High School and singing the National Anthem will be another Venice High School student Hannah Jae, who recently opened for Bon Jovi. There will be food and drinks for sale and different team campsites along with games and raffles. 100% of the money raised goes to the American Cancer Society!
(Please note this is a smoke-free (including e-cigarettes) and alcohol-free event. Only registered service dogs are permitted onsite.)
