With free SeeClickFix mobile app and web tools, Venice citizens will now be able to provide city staff with pictures, videos, specific descriptions, and more — valuable information needed to get the job done efficiently. In addition, the SeeClickFix platform provides city officials with a centralized issue management system to manage issues from creation to resolution — engaging citizens throughout the process.
“We’re thrilled to be able to provide this service to our citizens. SeeClickFix will streamline the process of reporting issues and get them assigned to the correct city departments more expediently and efficiently,” said city Public Information Officer Lorraine Anderson.
This partnership not only allows Venice citizens to report problems via smartphone or tablet, but also to view, comment on, and vote to fix problems submitted by their neighbors. Citizens can even create their own “watch areas” to receive notifications about all the issues reported in their community, enabling them to follow the progress of all service requests — not just the ones they report.
What makes this launch particularly interesting is that Sarasota County — the county that Venice is in — is also a SeeClickFix partner. SeeClickFix’s technology was built for overlapping jurisdictions, so citizens can report issues to the city and county on the same app. Previously, emails, phone calls and walk-ins came into the city to at least a half-dozen people throughout City Hall. Issues were being catalogued and assigned via email, sometimes to the wrong department or even the wrong jurisdiction (like to the city instead of the county). Venice needed a better way of assigning citizens’ concerns and complaints that was a more true single point-of-contact.
"We're excited about this introduction of SeeClickFix and very optimistic that it will provide a much more effective, consistent, and reliable way for our residents to bring our attention to issues and for city staff to respond to those issues," said Assistant City Manager Len Bramble.
“SeeClickFix is just what our community needed. It will help us at the City of Venice to be more responsive to our constituents and to be more efficient in handling their issues,” said Jeff Bolen, city Information Systems Director.
SeeClickFix Venice Connect is available as an app for Android and iPhone (see below images). Select SeeClickFix from your app store on your device and choose Venice, Florida.

SeeClickFix was founded in 2008 to empower citizens with tools to publicly document quality of life concerns in their neighborhoods. By radically improving the quantity and quality of this data, SeeClickFix was quickly adopted by local governments, who needed a better way to receive information from citizens.
This exchange helped to build one of the largest neighborhood networks in the world — upon which public agencies and public citizens engage to improve communities. Today, SeeClickFix has official partnerships with hundreds of cities, engaging hundreds of thousands of citizens in the resolution of millions of issues.
SeeClickFix has worked with government partners to develop municipal management tools on top of this citizen network. As SeeClickFix is adopted into the everyday lives of government users, the benefit of the engaged citizen base continues to grow.
