Each year we celebrate businesses by honoring them at the Venice Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards. This event recognizes Member businesses in five categories as well as an “Employee of the Year”.

Business of the Year Categories:
Health Care & Wellness Organization of the Year
To qualify for the Health Care/Wellness category, applicants must be an active and operating organization in the field of health and wellness
Examples might include: Hospitals, Physician Practices, Assisted Living Facilities, Rehab Centers, Fitness, Veterinarians, etc.
Hospitality & Tourism Organization of the Year
To qualify for the Hospitality & Tourism category, applicants must be an active and operating organization in a service-based environment.
Examples might include: Restaurants, Lodging, Attractions, Entertainment, etc.
Professional & Financial Services Business of the Year
To qualify for the Professional Services category, applicants must have a professional designation.
Examples might include: Law Firms, Accounting Firms, Banks, Mortgage Companies, Realtors, etc.
Non-Profit Organization of the Year
To qualify for the Non-Profit category, applicants must be a local 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 not-for-profit organization registered in the State of Florida.
Service & Retail Business of the Year
To qualify for the Service & Retail category, applicants must provide a service, a product or operate a “bricks and mortar” business.
Examples might include: Cleaning Companies, Lawn Service, Pool Service, Contractors, Manufacturers, Maintenance Services, Hair Salons, Retail Shops, etc.
Employee of the Year*
To qualify for this category, the employer must nominate the employee.
Please note: A business only needs to be nominated once and self-nominations are accepted. (*The employer must nominate the employee for the Employee of the Year category.) To be considered for an award, a business must be a Venice Area Chamber of Commerce member, fill out the application and be interviewed by a panel of judges.
